 SANTA CRUZ JUNETEENTH 2025

Join us at Santa Cruz Juneteenth on June 14, 2025 at Laurel Park for a vibrant celebration of African American heritage. Our theme this year is - Body, Mind and Soul!

Enjoy Arts from the Diaspora, delicious soul food, craft booths, a participatory Ancestors Alter, kids activities, Moments of Movement, our 2nd Line Parade with a live Brass and Drum Band, the Sack Race and a basketball skills contest hosted by the Reggie Stephens Foundation - all honoring the spirit of Freedom.

Samba Ngo and Mandjou Kone will headline along with Rastan, the Juneteenth Choir, Lyrical-I, the Monterey Peninsula Gospel Choir, the All Original Showcase, and DJ Sparkle grace the stage at Laurel Park, 12 - 5pm. 
 
Our Honorary Grand Marshall, Don Williams, will lead the Second Line Sidewalk Parade, starting at noon at the BLM Mural.

This is a FREE event for the Black community and its allies. Save the date and spread the word. We look forward to seeing you there!

Liberation Paddle Out

Black Surf Santa Cruz is hosting our fifthth annual Liberation Paddle Out event in commemoration of Juneteenth at Cowell Beach.

The Liberation Paddle Out is a celebration inviting both BSSC members and the general public for a day out on the ocean. The LPO is a free event and a full day of fun including:

- live DJ on the beach
- beach games & prizes
- paddle-out
- paddle-out lessons
- free equipment (while supplies last)
- delicious food
- fun with community, and more!
